Today’s GOTR lesson was about values.  A much harder topic that it sounds like on the surface. What do we value and why do we value it?

We ended up inside today do to the weather and so we talked for a while about values the then the girls ran laps choosing a value that was important to them each lap (from a list.)

The most interesting part of the day was when we played I Agree, I disagree , I am undecided.

I read them some values from a sheet and they had to make a decision to agree, disagree or remain undecided.

Some of the items brought out some good discussion.

  • Young people should always respect any adults because adults always know best.
  • Life should be fair.
  • If you do something good, it is important to let someone know about it.
  • It is important to make a lot of money.

I was proud that they each stuck by what they believed even if the rest of the group disagreed and that they were comfortable discussing their decisions.

In other news, they have decided for now that their team name is 3 of a kind.
